Phlebotomist - Spokane Valley Clinical Laboratory

Under the direction of laboratory leadership, the Phlebotomist obtains accurate and reliable blood and body fluid specimens from properly identified adult and/or pediatric patients. Identifies phlebotomy difficulties, defines appropriate solutions and coordinates resources. Maintains outstanding relationships with client and technical staff.

The phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining, preparing and ensuring specimen integrity of specimens such as blood, urine, sputum, stool and various cultures by logging, spinning, and distributing to laboratory testing areas.  Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the mission and values of Providence Health & Services.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a phlebotomy program administered by an accredited postsecondary school or college or a phlebotomy training program, or equivalent education/ experience. Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire. Six (6) months lab experience, or completion of a phlebotomy program administered by an accredited postsecondary school or college, or a phlebotomy training program.
