Phlebotomist/X-Ray Technician - Posting #26765
Hourly Rate: $20.35
Position Summary:
Full-time Phlebotomist/X-Ray Tech available for our Tacoma - Cushman Medical Clinic. This position is a 70/30 split, meaning on a daily basis the employee will spend approximately 70% of the time working in the lab as a phlebotomist and the other 30% shooting x-rays. Will work closely with the providers, nursing staff and other clinic personnel to ensure the smooth running of the department and clinic at large. Position calls for considerable initiative and judgment on procedures as well as exceptional customer services and lab skills
Phlebotomist duties:
Perform phlebotomy and patient care following completion of the venipuncture. Perform accurate lab tests and procedures and report results to licensed providers in a timely manner. Keep and maintain lab reports, Quality Control, Quality Assurance logs, process specimens for outside referrals, and keep adequate inventory of supplies. Manufacturer maintenance and protection of equipment is mandatory. Perform all tasks in safe manner and in compliance with Sea Mar Health and Safety Program and in accordance with requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments. Maintain confidentiality in patient record. He/ She must be prepared to assist the Medical Laboratory Technician when necessary.

Run the calibration of the equipment every 24 hours or day of use.Prepare the patient and testing following the manufactures’ instruction and laboratory Policies and Procedure Manual.Report accurate results to a licensed provider.Responsible for the maintenance and storage of the equipment.Responsible to work with the manufacturer for the troubleshooting of the equipment.Specimen Processing and Results Reporting:
Verify for ordering test in EHR.Blood draw patients and follow instructions for specimen processing.Process specimens according the reference lab guidelines.Tracking and review tests results in EHR every day.Communicates with providers, clinic staff and reference lab for smooth operation of the department.X-Ray Tech duties:
Train with the X-ray equipment in order to handle in safe and proper manner. Perform routine limited scope X-ray procedures of patient’s bone and structure, extremities, chest X-rays and others to assist in the diagnostic and treatment of our patients. The X-Ray Technician must have good stamina to stand and perform tests. X-Ray Technician should ensure that the patient is in the right position as well as explain to patients the radiology process. He/She, must maintain confidentiality in patient record and keep the X-ray room neat and clean. Will be responsible for inventory within the X-department and protect equipment. He/She, will perform related administrative duties and other duties as assigned.
Education and or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.Graduated and certified from a recognized US Phlebotomy School Program or authenticity of documents and accreditation status of foreign schools.Have documentation of in-house training appropriate for the testing performed prior to analyzing patient specimens. Certification as an X-ray technician as requested for performing routine x-rays procedures. The qualifications of the technician, along with his experience in the radiology field, are taken into consideration.WA State DOH X-Ray Technician and Phlebotomist credentials (licenses)are required.A minimum of one year experience in a hospital or clinic setting is desirable.Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.What We Offer:
