Phlebotomy Supervisor - Chelmsford, MA Area!!

Pay Rate: $50,000.00-$55,000.00USD Annual Salary


ROLE:

The Phlebotomy Supervisor, under the general supervision of the Area Operations Manager, works to ensure efficient and accurate workflow of the Mobile Phlebotomy staff. They are responsible for monitoring the phlebotomy area and the Mobile Phlebotomists' to ensure that all applicable policies and procedures are followed.

 

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Communicates promptly and efficiently with management and Territory Managers regarding client questions, concerns, and complaints.

• Ensures that phlebotomy supply and specimen drop off area is always neat and organized.

• Monitor phlebotomy supplies and prepare order for management approval as necessary.

• Maintains current and accurate contact information for Mobile Phlebotomists.

• Maintains accurate attendance records for Mobile Phlebotomists.

• Assists with hiring process.

• Assists with New Hire Orientation and Onboarding.

• Covers Mobile Phlebotomists' responsibilities when needed.

• Works with team to minimize problem requisitions.

• Performs scheduling of Mobile Phlebotomists, including accurate and current scheduling.

• Update information for new and terminated facilities.

• Seeks coaching and mentoring when appropriate.

• Adheres to all applicable policies and procedures.

• Completes special projects as assigned by management.

• Assists in compiling performance reviews as policy outlines.

• Follow up on all post exposure, employee & client paperwork, source specimen testing, notifications.

• Holds monthly meetings with Mobile Phlebotomy staff

• Follow up on urgent concerns from Mobile Phlebotomist in a timely manner and reports all issues to management.

• Maintains procedure manual and makes changes as approved by management.

• Performs all duties in compliance with established safety and OSHA guidelines.

• Adheres to established HIPAA confidentiality standards of patient, client, facilities and TridentCare staff.

• Monitor vehicles maintenance and cleanliness

• Performs all other tasks or duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Practices excellent communication and interaction skills specific to the population served, including the pediatric and geriatric communities.

• Treats customers and patients with respect, dignity, and discretion; acknowledging residents’ rights and patients’ right to refuse

• Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture using both vacutainer and syringe techniques

• Knowledge of laboratory operations

• Maintains sterile, sanitary conditions to prevent contamination

• Knowledge of medical laboratory operations.

• Proficient in phlebotomy procedures, techniques and skills

• Proficient in written/verbal skills in English language.

• Ability to follow written and verbal orders.

• Ability to maintain effective working relationship with patients, clients and management.

• Ability to take direction and conduct self in a professional manner.

• Proficient in computer skills including spreadsheets, word processing and Microsoft Office.

• Strong organizational skills, an ability to prioritize task, and meet deadlines established.

• Must have a current, valid State phlebotomy license (if applicable)

• Must have a current, valid State Driver’s license; car insurance; good driving record

• Must have a vehicle in good working condition suitable to meet daily driving requirements

The standard medical laboratory environment is one in which potential health hazards do exist. Administrative, technical and professional staff is expected to safely operate in accordance with applicable and appropriate health and safety policies and procedures, as prescribed by the Environmental Health and Safety Manual. This includes consistent and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Associates work in all weather and driving conditions.
