Overview The Telephone Triage Nurse is responsible for providing safe and effective telephone assessments, patient care instructions, direction to the appropriate level of care, and providing utilization management review of worker's compensation claims. Additionally, the Telephone Triage Nurse will access medical documentation and information provided by medical providers to determine the appropriateness of treatment, setting and length of treatment required. Position Details: Pay: Starting at $36/hr depending on experience Hours: Part-Time 15/hrs a week - M-F TWTH 3-6 MST F 12-6pm MST (Training hours will vary for the first 4-5 weeks) Fully Remote position! How you'll make an impact Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Performing intake of phone calls from injured employees. • Completing telephonic health assessments and render appropriate health care advice. • Entering injured employee data into a medical triage database. • Conducting follow-up phone calls to injured employees for health reassessments (when indicated). • Maintaining accurate records for all incoming calls, including interventions and follow-up instructions. • Actively participating in internal triage quality assessments, workflow enhancements, and procedure updates. • Maintaining telephonic nurse triage assessment and advice standards in accordance with established protocols, policies, and procedures. • Performing case reviews, as needed, for workers’ compensation claims. • Assisting with special healthcare-related risk management projects, as needed. About You Qualifications: Required: • Associate's degree from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of 3 years acute clinical experience or similar position required. • Hold an active unrestricted RN license in good standing within the state of Arizona or within a state that is a member of the NLC. • Willing to be licensed in states requiring same for Utilization Review. Desired: • Bachelor's degree. • Experience in Worker's Compensation or Utilization Review. • 3+ years related experience (preferred, e.g., telephone triage, urgent care, emergency department, triage, occupational health experience, orthopedics) with recent telephone or telehealth experience. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with heavy telephone triage intake. • Ability to work collaboratively with the team. • Strong critical thinking and customer service skills. Work Traits: • Demonstrates adequate knowledge of managed care with emphasis on use of criteria, guidelines and national standards of practice. • Demonstrates good written and oral communications, organizational and leadership skills. • Computer literate. • Demonstrates good time management skills. • Self-starter.
