Job Description

Telemundo T33 Sacramento is looking for a Photographer/Editor. You will be responsible for shooting and editing stories, including spot news and features. The ideal candidate will directly work with and report to the News Director and works closely with the Assignment Desk Manager and Executive Producer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Through the creative use of the camera, and proficient lighting and editing skills, you will provide the viewer with a story on a given topic.Will operate camera, live truck or cellular bonded technology and edit on Edius Pro edit systems.Respond quickly to breaking news while taking direction and interacting with the assignment desk, reporters/anchors, production, control room, and appropriate personnel.Shoot and edit high-quality video, interviews, and story packagesSet up and operate microphones and monitor audio levelsSet up and operate lighting equipmentPerform work under pressure with multiple, daily deadlinesCollaborate with field producer and correspondent on assignmentsGather video and interviews independently as neededTroubleshoot technical issues in the field.Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and/or equivalent work experienceMinimum 2 years’ experience as a photographerBilingual (English/Spanish) both written and verbalBe available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as requiredInterested candidates must submit a resume/CV on www.nbcunicareers.com to be consideredMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment at a given time – including camera, lighting kit, cable reel, and portable TVU, LiveU, Dejero units

Creative storyteller capable of producing engaging and entertaining contentThorough understanding of technology as it relates to non-linear editing and HD photographyProficient in HD lighting, HD videography, non-linear editing with Avid & Final Cut, Dalet editing, microwave truck operations Familiarity with new technologies such as Live U transmission, Dejero, Go Pro cameras and Latakoo file sharing camera equipmentKnowledge of Grass Valley Group Vibrint and Edius or other computer based editingStrong understanding of computer/IT workflowsUnderstand File Transfer ProtocolsFamiliarity with social mediaAbility to provide written and visual content to the websiteTeam player and adaptive to flexible work environmentPositive work ethic and ability to work under tight deadlinesHigh degree of integrity and professionalism

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
