Photgrapher/ Videographer:
Bowhead is seeking a Photgrapher/ Videographer for the upcoming DTRA Multimedia Support Services effort in Fort Belvoir, VA. This upcoming program will printing, photography-videography, graphics and audiovisual/VTC (AV/VTC) support services to the DTRA VI Division in support of the Agency.
Responsibilities Consult with customers/staff and study assignments to determine project goals, locations and equipment needs.Engage in research to develop new photographic/video procedures and materials.Perform maintenance troubleshooting necessary to keep equipment working properly and notify the COR of any maintenance issues observed.Set up, mount and/or install photographic/video equipment and cameras.Historical documentation and exercise documentation, with still photography and video. Event photography and videography of individuals, families, and small groups either in studio or on location.Produce computer-readable, digital images from film using flatbed scanners and photo finishing software. Write and edit video productions.Photograph/video recording of subject material to illustrate or record scientific/medical data or phenomena, using knowledge of scientific procedures and photographic technology and techniques.Use specialized equipment for producing photographs/video of microscopic items, assisting as necessary in the preparation of specimens to be photographed.Enter, transcribe, record, store or maintain photographic/video information in written or electronic/magnetic form.Provide input to establish long-range objectives/strategies/actions to further Agency photographic/video work.Perform general office duties, such as, scheduling appointments and maintaining records. Proactively monitor customer requests and work assignments.Caption and archive current and stored images according to Government-provided VI protocol. Archive appropriate imagery to Defense and Federal agencies as required by regulations.
Photograph and complete DTRA Official Military and Civilian studio portrait photographs, as required.
Photograph and complete passport photographs and DTRA event photographs, as required.
Print photographs, as needed, and provide other miscellaneous studio support, to include setting up shots and adjusting lighting and backdrops.

Qualifications BS or BA degree. An AS or AA degree and an additional 4 years of experience may be substituted or an additional eight (8) years of experience may be substituted for a BA/BS.At least five (5) years of experience of reltaed experience.• Comprehend still and video photographic principles and practices sufficient to plan and photograph subjects, events, and activities.Knowledge of a variety of specialized photographic/video equipment, techniques, and processes sufficient to complete assignments requiring high degrees of detail, critical timing, and critical focus.Knowledge of multimedia principles, practices, and technology.Select and assemble camera and lighting equipment and required background properties according to subjects, materials, and conditions. The Government will provide all cameras and associated equipment. Test camera equipment prior to use to ensure that it is in good working order.Write video scripts.Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, standing for prolonged periods, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best photo/video solution and solve problems.Orally communicate information and ideas to others and to listen attentively to information and ideas presented from customers.Operate Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac computers and their computer operating systems (including hardware and software), Microsoft Office Suite, to program, set up functions, enter data or process information. Utilize Adobe Creative Suite to enhance, retouch/resize photographs/edit video within DOD policies and regulations.Normal Color Vision with the ability to perceive, match or detect differences between colors including shades of color and brightness.Ensure all products are free of spelling errors and grammatically correct and clearly communicate senior leader(s) messages.Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of timeMust be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
