Initiates and coordinates quality related data and reports, and provides support to Manufacturing and Quality Assurance leading to the prevention and early detection of defects and non-conformities. Performs testing to support AEIC cable standards.Pay Rate: $20.00- $24.00/hourBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insuranceVision insurancePaid holidaysVacation and Sick timeESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSComplies with company safety rules at all times during working hours and ensures the safety of himself/herself and others at his/her operating station.Responsible in keeping equipment and work area in a clean and orderly fashion.Works in a professional manner, punctual and highly dependable.Performs required measurements with company approved measuring devices to ensure final process meets the required specifications (reference production Work Oder Router and QA Work Instructions).Verifies the measuring devices being used are calibrated and communicates to QA when equipment is beyond calibration dates or malfunctioning.Supports line operators and supervision with immediate feedback on quality related issues.Record and analysis product test data, including proposing corrective action to ensure quality product, if necessary.Accurately compiling quality data.Perform quality communication to operators to ensure that quality tests are being executed accurately.Perform internal and external cable failure analysis and potential resolution.Work professionally with customer and/or their representatives when required.Support in maintaining ISO certification.Adheres to applicable Work and Factory InstructionsOther Quality duties may be assignedEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONSTest equipment required performing specific quality tests.Instrumentation associated with test equipment.Industry specifications.Tools and measuring devices applicable to the industry.ISO requirements pertaining to Quality Control.Internal/industry codes and abbreviations used to identify compounds and conductors.Recognition of product quality (material contamination, voids, strand shield protrusions, uncured material, shrinkback, etc.).SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTSPosition requires individuals with proven mechanical aptitude. Must have the ability to:
Read micrometers and other related precision tools.Operate various pieces of equipment.Prepare required samples for various physical/chemical tests.Use hand held tools and measuring devices.Read and understand industry and customer specifications.Perform shop arithmetic.Read and follow written instructions.Communicate effectively to receive and pass on information and instructions.Operate some machine shop equipment (i.e. lathe, band saw, skiver, etc.).Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time.Continuously pay attention to detail.Fulfill computer tasks.Maintain legible quality records.Interpret test results.Work within a Team structure.Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.
