Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. The PT is responsible for the evaluation of the patient's physical and functional status and selecting the appropriate treatment program to achieve short and long-term goals that are measurable and realistic. They perform re-evaluations at least every 30 days and modify the plan of care as needed. The therapist will use modalities, skilled therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and education to treat patients with orthopedic and sports injuries. The PT must also communicate with physicians, patients, families, insurance companies, caseworkers and other medical staff to achieve excellent outcomes. Another integral part of the job involves implementation of sport performance training programs including education and assessment components for athletes and clients.
