GiaCare is now accepting resumes for a civilian Physical Therapist to work full-time at Camp Bullis in San Antonio, Texas.
Physical Therapist Qualifications:
Degree/Education: Masters, Ph.D., or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Physical Therapy
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS). Certifications must be through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Recommended Certifications for Physical Therapy Provider:
DN-1 & DN-2 o DN-3 (Ultrasound guided DN) DN-4 Deeper Mechanisms on dry needling and cadaver dry needlingSpinal Manipulation Cert (SMT)Vestibular and Concussion Specialist Cert (VCS)Blood flow restriction training Cert (BFR)Board Certification: Executive Council Physical Therapy Occupational Therapy Examiners Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners (ECPTOTE) or Equivalent
Experience: Have 5 years of experience working as a physical therapist in a tactical, collegiate, or professional sport setting or dual credentialed (i.e., ATC).
Licensure/Registration: Possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physical Therapist from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and must have passed the National Physical Therapy Examination administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT). PT Licensure in the state of Texas, and OCS or SCS Certification.
Physical Therapist Job Duties:
Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on an evaluation of the patient. Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function. Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in performing various physical activities, such as nonmanual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily living activities, and in use of assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.Administer soft tissue mobilization, applying knowledge of mobilization techniques and body physiology.
