Job Description
A physical therapist (PT) is a healthcare professional who helps patients improve their movement and manage pain through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other treatment techniques.
ResponsibilitiesEvaluate Resident’s condition and develop an appropriate physical rehabilitation plan.Help Residents to improve their mobility.Relieve Resident’s pain using exercises, hands-on therapy, stretching, and physical therapy devices.Teach Residents how to use physical therapy equipment.Help Residents through their tasks and monitor their performance.Inform Residents about what to anticipate in different stages of their recovery and how to handle each situation.Maintain Resident confidence and protect facility operations by keeping information confidential.Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants when required.Maintain a safe and clean working environment.Protect Residents and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.Contribute to inter-disciplinary team efforts in resident care.Essential SkillsCurrent New York State PT LicenseGraduate of an accredited Physical Therapy ProgramCPR CertificationExperience in skilled nursing/long-term care settings preferredAdditional Skills & QualificationsStrong physical therapy knowledge and skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and strong organizational skillsWork Environment
The position is within a 70-bed facility with the option to work Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday, 8-hour shifts from 8 AM to 4:30 PM or 9 AM to 5:30 PM. The facility is under new management and is focused on providing state-of-the-art treatment techniques and services. It is conveniently located only half a mile off exit 29 off the NYS thruway. The workplace maintains a community-focused approach and aims to create a home-like environment where employees are treated like family.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $83200.00
