Job Title: Physical TherapistJob Description A physical therapist (PT) is a healthcare professional who helps patients improve their movement and manage pain through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other treatment techniques. Responsibilities + Evaluate residents' conditions and develop appropriate physical rehabilitation plans. + Help residents improve their mobility. + Relieve residents' pain using exercises, hands-on therapy, stretching, and physical therapy devices. + Teach residents how to use physical therapy equipment. + Assist residents with their tasks and monitor their performance. + Inform residents about the different stages of their recovery and how to handle each situation. + Maintain resident confidence and protect facility operations by keeping information confidential. + Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants when required. + Maintain a safe and clean working environment. + Protect residents and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. + Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements. + Contribute to inter-disciplinary team efforts in resident care. Essential Skills + Physical therapy expertise + New York State PT License + CPR Certification Additional Skills & Qualifications + Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program + Experience in skilled nursing/long term care settings preferred Work Environment The position is located in a 70-bed long-term care and rehabilitation center. The facility operates under new management and is committed to providing state-of-the-art treatment techniques and services. The work schedule is either Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday, with 8-hour shifts from 8 AM to 4:30 PM or 9 AM to 5:30 PM. The center is conveniently located half a mile off exit 29 of the NYS Thruway. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $83200.00/yr.
