Job Description

A physical therapist (PT) is a healthcare professional who helps patients improve their movement and manage pain through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other treatment techniques.

ResponsibilitiesEvaluate residents' conditions and develop appropriate physical rehabilitation plans.Help residents improve their mobility.Relieve residents' pain using exercises, hands-on therapy, stretching, and physical therapy devices.Teach residents how to use physical therapy equipment.Assist residents with their tasks and monitor their performance.Inform residents about the different stages of their recovery and how to handle each situation.Maintain resident confidence and protect facility operations by keeping information confidential.Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants when required.Maintain a safe and clean working environment.Protect residents and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.Contribute to inter-disciplinary team efforts in resident care.Essential SkillsPhysical therapy expertiseNew York State PT LicenseCPR CertificationAdditional Skills & QualificationsGraduate of an accredited Physical Therapy ProgramExperience in skilled nursing/long term care settings preferredWork Environment

The position is located in a 70-bed long-term care and rehabilitation center. The facility operates under new management and is committed to providing state-of-the-art treatment techniques and services. The work schedule is either Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday, with 8-hour shifts from 8 AM to 4:30 PM or 9 AM to 5:30 PM. The center is conveniently located half a mile off exit 29 of the NYS Thruway.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $83200.00/yr.
