+ JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS + Job Summary : + Responsible for providing direct patient care in acute care, sub-acute and/or outpatient settings. Demonstrates knowledge of physical therapy treatment modalities and therapeutic procedures through his/her application in patient care. Effectively applies all physical therapeutic techniques appropriate to patient needs and physician orders. Completes all required documentation, assists in scheduling and attends interdisciplinary rounds/committee meetings as assigned. + Education : + Position requires a master's degree or 5-7 years equivalent combination of education and experience in related area. + Registration/Certification/Licensure : + Must possess a current license from the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy + Experience : + Must demonstrate competence to provide physical rehabilitation services by reason of education, training and experience. + Other Requirements : + Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements. + Required to lift and/or move more than 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with modified lifting devices. + Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions that drive an appropriate plan of care. + CPR training required within 30 days of hire + If functioning as Women's Health Physical Therapist, appropriate certification required; i.e., Women's Health PT, Women's Health Specialist/PT. + Inpatient therapists must complete 4 hours of stroke training annually.
