Physical Therapist-Acute PRN

Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs. Provides educational information to patients in regard to injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy and rehabilitation therapy. Supervises physical therapy assistants and aides in performing treatment.

Reports to:  Director - Rehab Services or Program Director - IRU

Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.Drag Edit DeleteEstablishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.Drag Edit DeletePlans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.Drag Edit DeletePerforms therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.Drag Edit DeleteDirects and supervises physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Assesses competence, delegates specific tasks, and establishes channels of communication.Drag Edit DeleteAdministers treatment involving application of physical agents, using equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines.Drag Edit DeleteEvaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications.Drag Edit DeleteIdentifies and documents goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation.
Minimum Education

Certifications:
BLS certification from approved American Heart Association or American Red Cross training center must be obtained within 90 days of employment, if not current upon hire.Drag Edit DeleteRequired Licenses
