Summary: + The physical therapist provides physical therapy services in accordance with the New Jersey Practice Act and the Bylaws of Princeton Healthcare System, standards of accreditation and State regulatory bodies, and Code of Ethics of the A.P.T.A. The physical therapy practice involves examination, evaluation, treatment and instruction of individuals for the prevention, habilitation or rehabilitation of physical disability, functional deficit, and or pain. Such practice includes but is not limited to the following areas: acute care, orthopedics, neurology, geriatrics, pediatrics, cardiopulmonary, home health, ob-gyn, OP Rehab and oncology. It may also involve administration, education and research. Physical therapy is responsible for participate in staff education activities and providing consultation for facility personnel. They must communicate and document the communication with other disciplines and service to provide continuity and coordination of patient care. This position requires coverage at both inpatient and outpatient sites. Responsibilities: + Assessing the physical therapy needs of the patient, preparing the rehabilitation plan of care based on the assessment that integrates goals, treatment, outcomes and discharge plan, providing rehabilitation service to the patient as specified in the rehabilitation plan of care, reassessing the patient's response to services provided and revising the rehabilitation plan of care as needed.Documents care given within the designated time frames in the EMR and hands off problems and resolutions to the case manager and the team.Incorporates an understanding of economic factors in the delivery of services and maintains compliance with productivity standards of the department as specified in the staffing plan.Participates in marketing and community education functions as requested.Plans and implements in-service and continuing educational activities to meet identified learning needs and performance improvement initiatives. Participating in staff education activities and providing consultation to facility personnel.Performs a patient examination in a technically competent manner.Evaluates clinical findings to determine diagnosis and outcomes of care.Performs interventions in a competent manner.Adapts delivery of care to reflect respect for and sensitivity to individual differences.Adheres to ethical practice standards.Communicates in ways that are congruent with situational needs.Addresses patient needs for other services.Educates others using relevant and effective teaching methods.Implements a self-directed plan for professional development and lifelong learning.Uses support personnel according to legal standards and ethical guidelines.Supports customer service and performance improvement goals of the department collaborates with other caregivers/ staff, within and outside the department to develop means of enhancing patient care and services.Maintains standards of confidentiality.Age-Specific Knowledge & Skills – demonstrate the knowledge, skill and attitude necessary to meet the physical, psychological and social needs within the age and developmental levels of the patients served in the department.Participates in unit compliance as related to established standards. Other duties and projects as assigned.Demonstrates competency in the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to meet patients’ physical, psychological, and social needs. Understands age-related growth and development levels.Keeps abreast of changes in policies, procedures, and philosophies of IP/OP Rehab. Professionally represents the IP/OP Rehab department during interactions with suppliers, committee, new employees, and students.Maintains a consistent level of performance. Follows regulatory guidelines including National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG). Credentials: + Physical Therapist (Required) + Active NJ License by the Board of Physical therapy + Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required) + Current BLS certification from AHA approved course + Driver's License (Required) + NJ Driving License Education or Equivalent Experience: + Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required) + Education Specialization:Physical TherapyEquivalent Experience:•And 1+ years Inpatient and Outpatient work experience. + Master of Arts or Science + Education Specialization:Physical TherapyEquivalent Experience:•And 1+ years Inpatient and Outpatient work experience.
