Summary
As an pediatric physical therapist, you will assess children’s skills based on areas of concern and provide intervention to help them meet developmental milestones, progress towards their therapy goals, increase their participation in meaningful activities and facilitate their overall independence in daily tasks. Physical therapists who thrive in our pediatric department at Sanford Health are typically good communicators and collaborators, compassionate, and enjoy working with children. In this physical therapist role, you may be asked to supervise physical therapy students, therapy aides, and observation students as they provide care, treatment, or other services inside the department, as well as interact with individuals outside the department such as family members, other healthcare providers, case managers, and more.Job Description
Conduct evaluations using standardized/non-standardized assessment tools and provide treatment using a variety of intervention approaches.Assess abilities of patients and develop realistic therapy goals in collaboration with the patient and his/her family to establish a therapeutic plan of care.Complete daily documentation outlining treatment provided and patients’ performance.Provide education designed to enhance understanding and improve functional outcomes.Demonstrate and incorporate knowledge of current research into daily treatment.Provide ongoing education and training to peers in the area(s) of expertise.Qualifications
Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as a Physical Therapist. When applicable, may require valid driver's license. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
