Responsibilities

The person serving in the position of Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating disabilities, injuries and disease using a range of manual therapy, modalities and exercises as well as providing education and consulting services.  The Physical Therapist complies with all regulatory, professional, ethical, quality improvement and facility standards, performs charting and patient progress notes as well as supervision, training and assistance to department personnel.  The Physical Therapist serves in a multidisciplinary capacity providing services to a wide variety of populations which may include pediatric, medical/surgical, orthopedics, outpatient.  Homecare services are also provided and may increase travel frequency. 

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

Patient care including evaluation and treatment of patients referred by providersProvides appropriate supervision for Physical Therapist Assistants and support personnelCompletes documentation related to patient care in a timely mannerParticipates in and provides educational in-services for staff and providersCollaborates with healthcare team and provides professional recommendations regarding patient careParticipates in patient related care coordination activities (e.g. care conferences, etc.)Positive promotion of department and profession within hospital/clinic as well as communityOther duties as assigned by management
Qualifications

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree

Minnesota PT license

BLS certified within 6 months of start of employment

Excellent computer skills with ability to learn, understand and work with computer software

Understand how to effectively work with different personality styles and ability to prioritize team culture

Excellent time management and organizational skills – able to prioritize department/therapist needs and stay focused on completing tasks

Able to develop and maintain positive inter/intra-department relationships with colleagues and management

Preferred

Entry level masters/doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
