Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

Essential Function

Establishes short and long term therapy goals and, based on evaluation data, initiates treatment plans consistent with goals. Identifies and initiates development of new treatment protocols/procedures, programs, and clinics. Selects the appropriate therapeutic modality, exercise or assistive device for each patient based on the initial assessment, physician referral and individual patient's age‑specific and learning needs. Adheres to regulatory guidelines as outlined in departmental policy and procedures. Adheres to the SC State LLR and SC State Practice Act guidelines, McLeod Health and departmental policies and procedures. Ensures patient confidentiality through the proper maintenance of protected health information. Communicates with physicians, ancillary services, and colleagues as needed regarding treatment provided progress and problems of the patient. Utilizes appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patient and staff.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school Valid South Carolina Physical Therapy licensure BLS certification
