Physical Therapist (PT)
GiaCare Inc. is now accepting resumes for experienced, civilian Physical Therapist to work alongside the federal government at Fort Sam Houston (San Antonio, Texas).

Qualifications:

 Degree/Education: Master's degree in physical therapy or Baccalaureate degree in physical therapy for graduates prior to January 1, 2002.  Graduate from a college or university approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).

 Certifications: Basic Life Support 

 Experience: Have at least two (2) years' experience providing direct patient care in physical therapy in the United States; can be waived at the discretion of the Chief, Physical Therapy Service. Documented experience and proficiency in outpatient and sports physical therapy are preferred. Experience and proficiency in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy, sports physical therapy, and/or acute inpatient physical therapy are preferred.

 Board Certification: American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) certification or specialization in orthopedic, sport, and manual therapy is encouraged.

 Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license from any U.S. jurisdiction to practice as a physical therapist. The license must be renewed and maintained in a current status during the length of the contract. The contract HCW shall have received Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) required training for the position in which they will perform and that training currency is maintained.


Proficient in patient management in a busy and rapidly changing environment.

 React quickly to changes in complex patient presentation to ensure the safety of the patient in all situations.

 Prioritize and optimally dose specific interventions to improve function and safe mobility to prepare the patient for discharge.

 Able to analyze and interpret abstract and concrete data, evaluate outcomes and problem-solve within scope.

 Ability to read and interpret Doctor’s daily notes from medical rounds.

 Demonstrate knowledge of acute medical conditions and how these conditions could affect patient mobility.
