Position Summary:
The TRIA Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency provides an advanced, evidence-based curriculum and high-quality mentorship that develops orthopedic physical therapists dedicated to enhancing patient outcomes, patient-centered care and community well-being. The one-year program is for highly motivated and engaged physical therapists who aspire to practice at the top of the profession.
All residency related educational materials are included in the tuition. APTA credentialed residencies require 150 direct 1:1 mentoring hours. There will be opportunities to mentor not only with the primary mentor, but other OCS, FAAOMPT, CHT and subspecialties while in the residency. The cost of tuition will be covered fully by Park Nicollet/TRIA.
There is no weekend or holiday work requirement for this position.

- TRIA Woodbury
The Rehabilitation Services Physical Therapist will communicate timely, clearly and in a professional manner with staff, patients, patient family members, physicians, and other internal/external customers. The staff member will demonstrate skills in listening, conflict management, system problem solving, decision-making and process improvement. The therapist will practice in compliance with professional standards and professional code of ethics. The Physical Therapist is responsible for assuring that the PNHS values as defined by the PNHS mission statement are achieved through daily departmental operations. This includes, but is not limited to, direct patient care, professional growth and development, outcome/competency monitoring, compliance with professional organizations, regulatory standards, and regulatory agencies; and participating in process improvements to advance patient care outcomes and satisfaction.
Participates in basic department development expectations for three professional pursuits, which must be some combination of the following: community event, clinical profession, a presentation and/or program, project, or committee participation.
Therapists in the residency program will be given ~4 hours/week of protected time to work 1:1 with their approved mentor.
Work Schedule:
4 – 10 hour shifts
Required Qualifications:
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Licensed with the Minnesota Board of Physical Therapy Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and participate in the Minnesota Chapter of APTA, or section.Preferred Qualifications:
Exhibit leadership qualities and serve as a professional role model within the clinic demonstrating excellent communication skills, strong drive for results, motivation of others and a high degree of integrity and trust. Proficient with communication and data processing equipment. Proficient in clinical apparatus related to area of expertise. Proficient in organization electronic medical record software.
