KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Communicates with courtesy when interacting with internal or external patients and customers—in person or on the telephone.

• Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations and identifying any medical conditions.

• Obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories of patients.

• Determines abnormalities by administering and/or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies.

• Interpreting test results of patients.

• Able to provide pre and post-operative care, if applicable. This would apply if PA is located in a surgical practice.

Qualifications

· EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant studies.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

• Florida Physician Assistant License

• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Continuing education required to maintain licensure

Job Summary

Provides medical treatment under the supervision of the physicians for Florida Hospital Physician Group. Conduct patient examinations and follow-ups provide treatment plans, and counsel patients. May, in some cases, prescribe medication. This medical care will be provided within the framework of the hospital’s medical staff department’s policies and procedures. Will work with complex surgical patients both pre and post-operatively.
