Location: College Park and West Midtown offices Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm or 6:00pm Job Type: Full-time Your Impactful Role + Conduct medical assessments and exams to evaluate employees' fitness for duty + Treat and manage work-related injuries and illnesses + Coordinate follow-up care, including physical therapy or specialist referrals + Collaboration with employers to enhance the recovery of injured workers  + Perform minor office procedures + Obtain x-ray and diagnostic results from appropriate source + Accurate and timely completion of documentation + Perform pre-placement, return to work, medical surveillance and commercial driver (DOT) and other regulated examinations + Conducting Respirator and hearing conservation program evaluations + Perform other duties as assigned Competencies + Outstanding customer service skills as well as the ability to deal with people in a manner which shows tact and professionalism + The ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies + Willingness to learn and improve; is positively responsive to feedback via audits + Ability to work independently and as part of a team + Demonstrated passion for worker well-being and population health management. + Competency in using an electronic medical record. Qualifications  + Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or NP program + Board Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (NP/PA) + Must be a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Certified Medical Examiner (DOT) or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire + Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Preferred Qualifications + Minimum of (2) years of clinical experience working as a Physician Assistant preferably in Occupational Medicine (urgent and primary care experience may be acceptable) + Working knowledge of Occupational Health regulations and standards, including but not limited to applicable OSHA standards. + Working knowledge of Workers Compensation statutes and workplace implementation. + Recent clinical experience in the practice of direct patient care + Experience in the review, analysis and interpretation of diagnostic testing including, but not limited to laboratory work, electrocardiogram, pulmonary function testing, audiometry, vision testing Physical Demands and Work Conditions: The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The work environment is usually moderate in noise level.
