Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Physician Assistant – Surgical for the department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Participates in a collegial relationship with the physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. Role includes taking histories, making assessments, ordering lab tests, reviewing and reporting diagnostic lab values, conducting outpatient clinics and assisting physicians in the OR.

Among the key duties of this position are the following: Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as imaging, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal. Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, suturing and wound care, and managing infection. Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provisions of continuity of care. Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens. Perioperative management of surgical patients. Inpatient rounds and outpatient office visits.
