Physician Assistant
Overview *** This position is contingent upon award of future contracts and is not immediately available *** SOSi is seeking an Physician Assistant to join a large medical support services program in Tornillo, TX supporting our U.S. Government Customer. Essential Job Duties Provides direct care within their scope of practice to patients, including children, pregnant women, and adults, to include emergency and urgent care. Consults with a Physician for complex medical, pediatric, or psychiatric patients, completes orders recommended/authorized by the physician. Performs history and physical assessment, behavioral health care, minor outpatient procedures, patient education, and refers any care beyond the scope of the medical unit to local medical facilities emergency departments or urgent care centers. Knowledge of drugs and therapeutics when prescribing and dispensing medication. Minimum Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen. Candidates must have an unrestricted, current license as a Physician Assistant valid in the location in which the duty will be performed/located. Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant Program located in a State, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory. Must be accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or one of its predecessors. The degree issuing institution and/or program must be accredited by an entity recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Must have a minimum of one year of experience as a licensed Physician’s Assistant in direct patient care. Clean criminal background check. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual in English and Spanish encouraged, but not required. Experience in detention/correctional healthcare, ambulatory care, or a pediatric setting encouraged, but not required. Work Environment May be required to travel short notice. May be required to serve at various medical units within the sector/region. Duties will be performed on-site at medical units, flexible scheduling and overtime are optional, as available. Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and pressure.
