Position Description
Serves as in-house Internal Medicine Service (IMS) physician assistant and maintains responsibility for the assessment and care of Internal Medicine patients under the direction of the IMS physician(s). The Physician Assistant of the Spine Center has primary responsibility for the assessment, evaluation, care and follows up of all patients referred to the Spine Center. Under the direction of the Supervising Physician, the Physician Assistant has overall responsibility for the planning and continuity of care for all patients. Under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services, the Physician Assistant has responsibility for the planning, administration, control and quality management of the department activities. The Physician Assistant for Outpatient Cardiology has the primary responsibility for the assessment, and care of cardiology patients in both the outpatient and inpatient settings under the supervision of a Northside Cardiologist. Under the direction of the cardiologist, physician assistants will provide direct patient care, oversee diagnostic testing, and support the physicians in other clinical activities per their scope of practice. The Physician Assistant for the Bone Marrow Unit has primary responsibility for the assessment, evaluation, care, and follow up of patients admitted to the inpatient Bone Marrow/Leukemia service.
Position Requirements
REQUIRED:
1. Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university. 2. Successful completion (Received PA Diploma) of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program. 3. Current certification by the National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants.
PREFERRED:
1. Current ACLS/BCLS certification
