Job Details Physician Assistant - Interventional Pain Management Monday to Friday 8A to 4P Required to visit 3 locations: Port Jefferson (90% time @ 1500 Route 112 Building 2C ) Commack (twice per month @ 500 Commack Rd.) Riverhead (twice per month @ 800 Old Country Rd. ) New Graduates are welcomed! The Assistant will support an Interventional Pain Physician. The ideal candidate should be a motivated interventional pain PA willing to learn and work in an environment that emphasizes improving patient lives and restoring function without the use of opioids. Catholic Health Physician Partners seeks Full Time Physician Assistant interested in interventional pain management and regenerative medicine. Neuro or Ortho experience a plus! Qualified candidate will possess thoroughness, strong clinical and communications skills and be capable of working as part of a medical team using scientific deduction to help our patient. Dr. Frankenberger is dual Board Certified in Interventional Pain Management and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Frankenberger specializes in the treatment of pain due to arthritis, muscle spasm, neck and back pain, disc herniations, sprains, sports injuries, degenerative disc disease, shoulder/elbow/hip/knee/ankle & foot pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, spinal stenosis, CRPS, post-surgical pain, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, headaches, motor vehicle injuries, pelvic pain, phantom limb pain, postherpetic neuralgia, work-related injuries, vertebral body fractures, and whiplash pain. Responsibilities: • Contributes to patient care, by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; collaborating with the physician and implementing directives. • Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories. • Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, MRIs, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results. • Developing a treatment plan in collaboration with the provider team • Documenting patient progress and maintaining accurate and comprehensive medical records • Instructs and counsels patients, providing direction for emotional problems of daily living; promoting wellness and health maintenance as it relates to pain. • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Skills: Strong knowledge of pain management practices and procedures Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients, providers, and staff Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment Ability to manage the flow of patients and maintain high levels of efficiency Qualifications: Physician Assistant must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant or by one of its predecessor agencies. Must have current and unrestricted license Physician Assistant's must have current NCCPA certification BLS and ACLS required. DEA registration required for those with discharge responsibilities. Required and accepted from the American Heart Association. No online programs from any organization will be accepted.
