The position is located in the Family Medicine Clinic at Eisenhower Army Medical Center (EAMC), working in an outpatient clinic as part of a multidisciplinary team. Working hours are approximately 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant you will perform duties such as:

 

Make independent decisions regarding the medical care required for each patient.Obtain comprehensive and detailed health and medical history from the patient or a family member.Perform assessment of patients' condition to determine correct care and treatment plan.Refer complex medical problems to appropriate next level of specialty care or medical management.Prescribe medication and controlled substances in accordance with scope of practice for Physician Assistants.Submit orders for laboratory tests, X-rays, and other special studies required for diagnostics.Teach patients and their family members about proper treatment and medical care. US Citizenship Required

 

At least one year of experience as a certified physician assistant treating patients in a Family Practice setting.

 

Graduation from a physician assistant educational program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARCPA), or its predecessors, at a college, university, or educational institution that is accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the Secretary, U.S. Department of Education.

 

Successful completion of the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination; must maintain status as a certified physician assistant, including completion of all requirements for continuing medical education (CME) and re-certification.

 

  

All Applicants must be licensed as a Physician Assistant by the recognized licensing agency of a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
