Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute is seeking a Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant to join the practice at United Hospital in St. Paul.

Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities:

Completes comprehensive patient assessments.​ Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.Participates in health care team.Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.Acts as resource to members of the team.


Required Qualifications:

Master's degree - Completion of accredited Physician Assistant program


Preferred Qualifications:

New graduates may be considered. Minimum 2 years of experience in surgery or cardiology.OR experience or First Assist experience required.

Licenses/Certifications:

Licensed Physician Assistant - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hireCertification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) required upon hireActive MN PA license (or ability to obtain).

BLS certification required with in 180 days of hire.

Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for credentialing and hospital privileges.

Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).

Physical Demands:

Medium Work*:Lifting weight Up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $55.24 to $76.43 per hour

The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
