Physician Assistant - Critical Care

The Critical Care Physician Assistant will be responsible for working in collaboration with Crouse physicians, surgeons, residents and nursing staff to provide safe and reliable patient care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Duties include but are not limited to: assisting the critical care staff with obtaining comprehensive patient histories and perform physical exams; daily rounding and providing plan of care development and execution in collaboration with the ICU team; order, perform and interpret bedside interventions, diagnostic procedures and laboratory tests; provide instruction and education to meet patient needs; engage in continuous learning and teaching with ICU staff; participate in patient rounds and respond to nursing or acute care calls.
Job Requirements: Current New York State license as a Physician Assistant or able to obtain state licensure. Education: Satisfactory completion of a program for the training of physician assistants that is approved by the New York State Education Department as licensure qualifying and accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) and nationally certified by the NCCPA. Minimum of 3 years Critical Care experience required. Experience in Hospitalist, Cardiology or Surgery preferred. Competence in computer/information systems use and management. Current ACLS, BLS and Infection Control certification
Salary starting at $110,000/annually
