JOB SUMMARY:
This position is accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician. Functions independently in a staff position, implementing the role of expert practitioner, consultant, educator, and researcher within a specialized area of patient care. Performs within the scope of licensures and in accordance with hospital policies. Some positions will be responsible for being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed, pursuant to hospital needs. Also responsible for on-call duties
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree
Completion of a Physician Assistant Program
Current California Physician Assistant license
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
Furnishing number, State of California (w/in 1 year of employment)
DEA license for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications (within 1 year of employment)
Medicare Billing number (NPI-National Provider Identifier) (Must obtain within 6 months of employment)
Certification: Physician Assistant, National Commission (w/in 1 year of employment)
Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services
Successfully complete the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned division
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree
Two years of clinical nursing experience with emphasis in specialty area
Experience in specialty area as a Physician Assistant
Formal in-service education and/or lecturing skills
Bilingual
The expected hiring range for this position is $67.58 to $92.93
