Position Summary
A well-established endocrinology practice in Mullica Hill, NJ is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant. The PA will provide care and treatment for patients with a range of endocrine disorders, such as diabetes, thyroid disease, metabolic disorders, osteoporosis, and hormonal imbalances. This role is an office-based position Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in endocrinology and a commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based care in a collaborative environment.
Position Experience Required
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in endocrinology or a related field (internal medicine or primary care with significant exposure to diabetes/endocrine conditions)
Previous endocrinology experience as a nurse practitioner
Proficiency with CGM monitoring
Position Responsibilities
Includes but is not limited to:
• Patient Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including detailed patient histories and physical examinations. Diagnose endocrine conditions based on clinical findings, lab results, and other diagnostic data.
• Treatment and Management: Develop, implement, and monitor treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Prescribe medications, insulin therapy, CGM monitors and other treatments as appropriate. Adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and lab results.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and families on disease management, lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and preventive care. Empower patients with knowledge to better manage their endocrine health.
• Chronic Disease Management: Work with patients to manage chronic endocrine conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, and adrenal insufficiency. Adjust and monitor treatment regimens to optimize health outcomes.
• Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate closely with endocrinologists, other healthcare providers, and office staff to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care. Make referrals to other specialists when necessary.
• Patient Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate patient records, including assessment findings, treatment plans, and follow-up care. Document in electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, such as monitoring outcomes for patients with diabetes, and contribute to the development of best practices for endocrine care.
Position Qualifications
-Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
-Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
-Active and unrestricted PA license in NJ
-DEA & NJ Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) license
-BLS certification
