WMCHealth is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the Department of Otolaryngology at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. This is an exciting opportunity available to qualified Physician Assistants with excellent clinical decision-making, exposure to quality-of-care measures and strong procedural skills. Candidates must be licensed in New York. We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of one year's in-hospital experience.
Job Summary:
The Department of Otolaryngology utilizes Physician Assistants as part of a multidisciplinary team providing advanced, high-quality healthcare. Otolaryngology PA's will undergo training in all aspects of Otolaryngology, including but not limited to pediatric ENT, neurotology, laryngology, head & neck cancer, rhinology and skull-base surgery. The PA’s will be expected to cover Otolaryngology primary and consult patients in all of the ICUs (neonatal, pediatric and adult) and on the floors. The PA is expected to attend Departmental educational activities, including but not limited to Grand Rounds and didactics. We expect the PA to work side-by-side with Otolaryngology Residents, Medical Students and PA students in both the inpatient setting and the operating room. An experienced PA will be expected to provide education to students and Junior Residents. This position is an excellent opportunity to be involved in the multifaceted Otolaryngology department.
Responsibilities:
• Inpatient and emergency room consults • Care and coordination throughout a patient's hospital stay • Discharge planning and coordinating • Work alongside a team of attending physicians, residents, medical students, and physician assistant students. • This position has a variable schedule
