Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner - Greenville Family Medicine Weekender

Enjoy working in a primary care practice but the traditional hours do not support your busy personal schedule Monday through Friday?  Come join our incredible Greenville Family Medicine team for a unique opportunity to work every weekend doing Primary Care and enjoy your weekdays off to support your personal schedule.  This new program offers premium pay, no on-call obligation, and reduced in basket work.

We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to work part-time:   

   Hours are 8-4:30 pm Saturday and Sunday Providers in this role would be expected to support the practice in basket on the weekends i.e., when not seeing patients, they are completing in basket work for the practice.The providers who are hired into these roles will work part-time but paid a premium of 20% above the rate we would offer for a comparable role.Weekend providers are NOT required to participate in the call rotationWeekend providers MUST attend the monthly provider meetings

Under physician supervision, provides medical care to patients of varying type and acuity.

Essential Functions

Functions in the role of advanced practitioner to coordinate comprehensive care delivery. Writes orders/prescriptions for standard formulary medications, laboratory, radiographic studies and consultations, coordinating the scheduling of admissions, diagnostic evaluations, follow-up exams, laboratory tests, referrals to home care, social services, and other community agencies, etc., in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services.Obtains histories and performs physical exams.Assesses the patients/significant other, health care team, school and other community educational needs and develops, implements, evaluates and revises teaching strategies/educational programs related to area of specialty.Acts as a patient advocate, crossing multidisciplinary lines to meet patient needs.Communicates, collaborates, networks with and acts as a consultant to other members of the health care team within and outside Spectrum Health. Acts as a consult in area of expertise.Performs and assists with designated procedures.Documents in the medical record and dictates information as appropriate.Provides input into the strategic planning, implementation and evaluation of service/program. Measures the outcomes of care and evaluate services across the continuum of inpatient to outpatient services. Makes recommendations to improve the quality of patient care provided and utilizes the scientific method of research clinical problems.
