Job Summary

Michigan Medicine, regionally and nationally known for its commitment to providing high quality, family-centered patient care, is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the Emergency Department (ED) team. The ED is a Level 1 trauma center for adults and children with approximately 105,000 visits per year, providing a fast-paced and exciting work environment. Our physician assistants serve as integral members of a multidisciplinary team providing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for patients across the continuum of age and acuity in a variety of treatment areas including the Adult Emergency Services, Children's Emergency Services, and the Emergency Critical Care Center. In addition, the ED PA coordinates emergent and urgent care with consultant services, recommends follow-up care, facilitates referrals to various internal and external facilities and participates in multidisciplinary continuous quality improvement and research initiatives.

 Work Schedule

This is a full time rotating position including holidays and weekends.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Physician Assistants of Michigan Medicine, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
