Avera is currently seeking Physician Assistant (PA) looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.

Job Summary
+ Assumes the responsibility for the provision of primary care and medical management of patients at the clinic and hospital in collaboration with a physician.
+ Physician Assistants practice under the rules and regulations for Physician Assistants in the state in which they work.
Education/Experience
+ Bachelor's or Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program is required.
+ Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner or physician assistant program.
+ Experience (clinical or actual) in Family Practice/Hospitalist preferred.
+ 3-5 years related experience and/or training is preferred.
+ Preferred candidates will have clinical experience in the acute and/or ambulatory setting.
+ Preferred candidates will also have experience working with clients having co-occurring addictive disorders in conjunction with mental health conditions.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
+ Licensure as a Physician Assistant and ability to practice in the state of South Dakota is required.
+ Federal & State DEA certification is required for South Dakota Physician Assistants.
+ National Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCPPA) required.
Work Schedule
+ Monday – Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks
+ 8:00am - 5:00 pm
+ Occasional call time (Weekend call on the weekend that pulmonologist is at ASL)
