Avera is currently seeking Physician Assistant (PA) looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.

Job Summary

Demonstrates and serves as an expert in the role of practitioner, consultant, educator and health professional.  Improves clinical and cost outcomes for key patient populations through collaboration with physicians and staff and by participating in strategic initiatives.  Assures competent and ethical care of patients and families.  Shares with the supervising physician and clinic staff the responsibilities of providing and maintaining a quality of customer focused, nursing and medically appropriate approach to patient assessment, care plan development and implementation, follow up to outcomes and cost-effective delivery of services.  Community involvement and collaboration is encouraged.

Education and/or Experience

Graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner or physician assistant program. Experience (clinical or actual) in Cardiology is preferred or will train.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Current SD license to match degree.   Federal & State DEA certification is required for South Dakota Physician Assistants. National Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCPPA) required.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks Four 10-hour shifts each week Every other weekend Every other holiday
