Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The APP Trauma works in collaboration with a physician and other members of the interdisciplinary team to evaluate and treat acute illnesses and injuries, ordering, conducting and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescribing of pharmacologic agents and treatments, and performing necessary invasive procedures in accordance with established protocols, policies and evidenced based practice. Provides expert education, consultation, and patient advocacy. Job Specifics OSF Medical Group, part of OSF HealthCare, seeks a trauma critical care PA to join a multidisciplinary team of board certified surgeons, medical students, surgical residents, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and advanced practice providers to provide evidenced based care. PA must be board-eligible or board-certified. Experienced physician assistants will be considered. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education:Master's degree in nursing or at least an MSPAS/ MPAS as well as a valid national PA certification or acute care APRN certification Federal DEA and IL Controlled Substance Current Basic Life Support certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Other requirements/information: Work requires the interpersonal skills necessary to educate family and significant others on care as well as provide emotional support during crisis, deal effectively with physicians and residents, provide training and education to residents, medical students, and nurses Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to manage care of the critically ill adult patient OSF Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
