Physician Assistant - Urgent Care Woolwich - UC

This position is M-F 8:00 am- 4:30 pm

 

Position Summary

The Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients seeking urgent medical attention as well as occupational health services.This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries. 

Our urgent care centers are open 7 days a week. The role includes three 12-hour shifts a week from 8am-8pm. 

Position Responsibilities

Includes but is not limited to:

- Conduct thorough physical examinations and obtain medical histories

- Perform DOT physicals

- Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries

- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, lab work, and EKGs

- Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and therapies

- Provide patient education on health maintenance and disease prevention

- Perform minor procedures, such as suturing, I&D, splinting, and wound care

- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care

- Maintain accurate and timely patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems

- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development

Position Experience Required

-Minimum of 2 years of experience in urgent care or ER preferred

-Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently

Position Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

-Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

-Active and unrestricted PA license in NJ

-DEA & NJ Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) license 

-BLS certification

- Obtain National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners certification within 6 months of accepting the job
