SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job)A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing, treating, and preventing mental illnesses and disorders. They are trained to understand the biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to a person's mental health. Psychiatrists use a variety of methods to evaluate their patients, such as interviews, psychological tests, and medical examinations. They work closely with their patients to develop a treatment plan that may include medication, therapy, or a combination of both. Additionally, psychiatrists are trained to handle emergency situations, such as suicidal or violent behavior, and can provide crisis intervention when necessary.

3+ years of specialty training from an accredited program;

Other Credentials:

NJ & PA licenses. Board certified/eligible
