Job Summary

DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY: Reports to the Chief, Department of Surgical Services and is delegated the administrative and clinical authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. JOB FUNCTIONS: Every effort has been made to make your job description as complete as possible. However, it in no way states or implies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT / DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Take a patient’s medical history. Update charts and patient information to show current findings and treatments. Order tests for nurses or other healthcare staff to perform. Review test results to identify any abnormal findings. Recommend and design a plan of treatment. Address concerns or answer questions that patients have about their health and well-being. Help patients take care of their health by discussing topics such as proper nutrition and hygiene. Operate on patients to treat injuries, diseases, or deformities.


 

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: • Board Certified/Board Eligible in General Surgery • Unrestricted MA license EXPERIENCE: • Competency in endoscopy (EGD and colonoscopy) • Competency in laparoscopic surgery (appendix, colon, gallbladder, and hernias) • Competency in basic trauma management
