Responsibilities Serve as a board-certified Internal Medicine Specialist providing care to adult patients who have both acute and chronic illnesses of all complexities.Serve as a core faculty member of the Internal Medicine Residency Program under the direction of the Program Director.Develop, implement, and assess the Internal Medicine Residency Program curriculum.Examine, diagnose, treat, and follow patients with a wide range of medical problems, including heart failure, kidney disease, hypertension, diabetes, liver disease, cancer, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and thyroid disorders.Order laboratory and radiologic studies appropriately to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care.Serve as an attending physician and leader of an inpatient medicine team, supervising, teaching, objectively evaluating, and providing consultation to other healthcare providers.Performs military medical board and Temporary Disability Retired List (TDRL) evaluations.Render urgent treatment and hospitalizes patients as required.Collaborate with other specialties and other services on complex patients requiring a multi-disciplinary approach.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

 

US Citizenship required

 

Board Certified/Eligible

 

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicants graduation. [A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) (or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country).

 

Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
