The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the University of Maryland Institute of Health Computing are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team in a major leadership role. This transformational position is designed to drive innovation and excellence within the Division and School. *Role with Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine* · Serve as Vice Chair for Education, playing key roles within fellowship programs, particularly towards physician-scientist development. This includes a formal position within Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Leadership. · Provide leadership and strategy in external communications and branding, given the critical and successful role as ATS Scholar journal editor. · Play a significant role with efforts at the VA Medical Center, including inpatient rounds and clinic responsibilities. · Continue and build research and development programs into AI algorithms and technologies in mechanical ventilation (both own programs and participating in ongoing programs in the Division). · Develop and implement strategic initiatives to advance the department's mission and goals. · Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that promotes research, education, and clinical excellence. · Represent the department within the University and to external stakeholders. · Mentor and support faculty, staff, and trainees in their professional development. *Role with the University of Maryland Institute for Health Computing (UM-IHC)* · Serve as Director of Educational Initiatives (specific title flexible), acting as a liaison between UMSOM Medical Education and IHC. · Lead educational mission programs for the IHC, including course development for programs for graduate students and PhD, early career faculty, post docs, community engagement programs, and entrepreneurial training programs. · Leverage own and current Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine research into AI in critical care, and advanced data analytics in clinical investigations. Expected faculty rank for this position is Professor, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be dependent upon selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. We offer competitive salary and benefits. Expected salary range for Professor is $266,007 (min) and $409,820 (max). The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the departmental faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental variable compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department. The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
