Summary : Vighter LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced physician to serve as the Medical Director for the Worldwide Aviation Support Services, in conjunction with the Department of State and the Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs’ Office of Aviation. This includes oversight of the Flight Medics program, flight crewmember’s aviation medicine, aeromedical evacuation, establishment of new INL/A mission locations, coordination with regional RMOs as required. The Medical Director (MD) serves as a program key senior-level position as the medical advisor for all operations, actions and activities of the AAR program and oversees all medical operations, procedures, and protocols. The MD shall maintain flexibility to effectively perform tasks with changing mission requirements, employing proven and innovative processes, tools, and technologies while complying with all Federal, State, Local laws, and US Government (USG) regulations and policies. The Medical Director shall provide support for the overall DOS Air Wing Program Quality Assurance Surveillance Program (QASP). The Medical Director shall develop and provide input to the Program quality assurance plan to monitor and document compliance with all contract requirements related to medical work scope; these inputs will be approved by the AAR QSSM before being incorporated into the program. Principle Accountabilities: + Perform scheduled Outside of the Continental United States (OCONUS) medical surveys and site medical assessments (often in austere and difficult environments) and present findings and recommendations. + Ensure adequate medical services and response capabilities are available at all OCONUS locations. + Author and approver of all medical protocols that authorize AAR WASS Flight Medics to work without direct medical supervision. + Support the planning and execution of fixed or rotary wing aeromedical evacuation, Flight Medic support, or other more general medical services at assigned and other locations as directed by AAR. + Oversee aeromedical emergency medical equipment, emergency medications, and consumable supplies to ensure Western standard medical and health standards of care. + Contribute to the development of budgetary estimates, CONOPS, plans and directives requiring medical expertise. + Maintain controlled substances IAW federal Controlled Substance Act and manage their ordering, record keeping, disposal, and overall accountability. + Provide availability for program personnel to speak with a medical doctor in case of an emergency. + Act as an advisor for Human Resources, attending physicians and/or Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) to assist with return to duty for aircrew. + Responsible for collaboration and approvals between WASS AAR, local medical professionals, Regional Medical Officers (RMO), and the US Embassy to ensure compliance with USG policy and local protocols. + Other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skills : + Must have exceptional customer service skills. + Employees shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the job requirements, including ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently. Education : + Graduate from an approved medical school in the United States orwith a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). + Ten (10) Years of clinical experience in Western standards of medical and health care relevant to aviation medicine, OCONUS aeromedical medical evacuations (MEDEVAC and or CASEVAC), and lifesaving medical procedures. + Experience as a Military Flight Surgeon with demonstrated experience in aviation medicine, emergency medical services, personnel recovery, and aeromedical evacuation. + Demonstrated experience in executive-level interpersonal skills and the ability to work in challenging conditions and environments. + Working knowledge of advanced trauma care, including immediate assessment and treatment of any traumatic life-threatening injury. + Working knowledge of advanced cardiology, with appropriate drug treatment protocols, advanced diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, radiological (basic) analysis, and body recovery procedures. + Working knowledge of establishing and maintaining sanitary requirements to maintain a healthy working environment in OCONUS remote locations. Qualifications: + May deploy to austere environments for up to 90 days. + Hold and maintain an active, unrestricted, US (State) Medical License. + Hold and maintain current DEA registration number to procure controlled substances. + Hold and maintain a valid US Passport and maintain Secret Security Clearance. Duty Hours / On-call Requirements: + This key position supporting 24/7/365 operations which may require work to be conducted in the day, at night, on weekends, and during holidays, often in austere environments. Work Environment: + Location: Medical support/oversight in Iraq, CONUS, and occasionally other OCONUS locations as assigned. + Supportive team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff. Travel: + As required to satisfy the contractual obligations. Travel will be required to various locations throughout the world. Travel not arranged and paid for by AAR shall be reimbursed at cost in accordance with the Federal Travel Regulations, Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), and Standardized Regulations as set forth in FAR 31.205-46. + Medical support/oversight in Iraq, CONUS, and occasionally other OCONUS locations as assigned.
