Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled BE/BC to join our Brooklyn region. This is a full-time opportunity. Come join our highly respected, passionate team of Ophthalmologists in an outpatient setting. While the position entails the full range of general ophthalmology, a strong background in the evaluation and treatment of glaucoma is greatly preferred.

• One to three years of ophthalmology clinical experience in an outpatient setting.
• Ability to treat and diagnose a wide variety of ophthalmology conditions and improve patient
outcomes.
• Demonstrate competency in diagnosis and treatment to assure high standards of patient care and
safety are maintained.
• Patient-centered approach toward a positive patient experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Interest in Population Health Management
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
• Review patient histories and reports. Perform physical examinations.
• Record examination information; Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
• Evaluate, diagnose and provide appropriate treatment and patient care.
• Perform routine eye exams and treat eye diseases, such as macular degeneration, cataracts and
glaucoma.
• Diagnose and treat a wide variety of eye disorders.
• Perform surgical procedures weekly.
• Prescribe medications and formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans.
• Recommend suitable management for the patient, including but not limited to, preventive health
recommendations and habits.
• Provide relationship-centered care, taking into account the patient’s psychosocial and physical
needs.
• Communicate effectively with the clinical team to ensure total delivery of quality care.
• Participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience :
• Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or foreign equivalent
• Completion of three year post graduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency
program in ophthalmology surgery.
• Seeking both experienced – 2 years or above, and newly trained providers
• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Ophthalmology
• Must possess current, unrestricted New York State license or be eligible for licensure.
• Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration.
• Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred.
• Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written.
• Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office.
