For more information, please visit the following link: https://www.usajobs.gov/Help/working-in-government/benefits/ **Responsibilities** + Serves as a Physician (Psychiatry) in a Medical Treatment Facility, responsible for providing examinations, diagnoses, treatment of diseases affecting mental health. + Serves as a recognized technical authority in the delivery of Psychiatric medical care to a wide demographic and large variety of psychiatric patient presentations, symptoms, conditions, and complexities. + Provides appropriate referrals to other medical and mental health care providers in and outside of MTF. + Conducts thorough biopsychosocial evaluations of presenting patients, including but not limited to integration of laboratory, radiological, EKG, psychological testing, and clinical findings. + Prescribes appropriate pharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatment. + Develops treatment and rehabilitation plans and provides appropriate therapeutic treatment services. + Research activities may involve the development, testing or evaluation of innovative therapies. + Participates in Quality Assurance (QA) functions, performance improvement programs, risk management programs, and peer review programs **Conditions of Employment:** + This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
