Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Physician Specialist for NJMS- Surgical Critical Care/Trauma. As a full time physician specialist in the Department of Surgery, this role is expected to participate in all activities to the satisfaction of the Department Chair, and/or Division Chief. The Physician provides trauma surgery inpatient, outpatient, surgical and bedside patient care to all patients requiring these services. Provides call coverage to University Hospital and any other designated outside facility, as required.


Among the key duties of this position are the following: Provides surgical critical care, trauma and general surgery clinical services to University Hospital and any other designated outside facility, as required. Performs surgical critical care, trauma and general surgery consultations and any emergency surgeries when on call. Takes trauma night call, trauma day call and round on the trauma service. Takes emergency general surgery day and night call and round on emergency general surgery service. Provides day and night coverage for the ICU. Educates and teachs residents and fellows.
