Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Physician Specialist-III Cardiac Imaging Trainee for NJMS-Medicine-Cardiology. This position will comprise of 0.8 FTE advanced cardiac imaging non-ACGME trainee and .2 FTE as an Instructor in Medicine and attending physician in the Division of Cardiology. The Physician III will serve as a trainee for training in advanced cardiovascular imaging procedures, including advanced transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), intraprocedural TEE, stress testing, Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiac computed tomography, and Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. Besides clinical training, the Physician III is also expected to pursue scholarly activities involving participation in multidisciplinary conferences, research projects related to advanced cardiac imaging, outcomes, etc. As an instructor and attending in the department of medicine this position will serve as the attending physician on the Cardiology service, which could include inpatient and outpatient care, and perform non-invasive cardiology procedures that can typically be performed after graduating a cardiology fellowship training program.

Among the key duties of this position: Provides patient care and consultative services on both the inpatient and outpatient service for Cardiology. Supervises the medical management of patients referred for/accepted for advanced cardiac imaging procedures. Performs basic non-invasive cardiology procedures and provides supervision to Cardiology fellows for the performance of these basic procedures. Supports and participates in the development of research in advanced cardiac imaging.
