More than 67,000 students and 22,000 faculty and staff learn, work, and serve the public at Rutgers locations across New Jersey and around the world.  Posting Summary Rutgers University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) is seeking a Per Diem Physician Specialist for Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women, located in Clinton, NJ.  The primary purpose of the Physician Specialist is to provide medical services to inmates of the Department of Corrections, which are consistent with community standards of care. Serves as liaison for clinical matters with medical providers outside of the system and be available to provide on-call services.

Duties include: Serves as the Medical Director of the site and supervises other physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practioners at the site.  Reports to Assigned State Prison at designated hour to examine referred patients.  Provides emergency care, routine medical care, preventive medical care and education to patients.  Assures implementation and ongoing status of on-site chronic clinics.  Refers patients to appropriate Physician Consults.  Rounds daily in the infirmary as assigned and documents patient’s status in the progress notes of the infirmary medical record.  Position Status Per Diem Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Day Work Arrangement This position requires a full onsite work arrangement.
