Pipe Designer
Job Title: Pipe DesignerJob Description Designers are responsible for creating plans, designs, specifications, and drawings based on calculations and written instructions provided by customers or engineers. These designs are used by manufacturing to build a range of different products, from pipe support systems to standardized support components, using computer-aided design software. Responsibilities + Create, review, or revise product or pipe support plans and specifications. + Design components for new or existing products or applications. + Ensure accuracy of drawings and bills of materials generated by CAD/Designers; minimize or eliminate rework in manufacturing. + Work in a team environment to ensure accuracy and provide quality work. + Participate in meetings and work closely with estimating, manufacturing, production, and customer personnel to ensure quality design of new or redesigned products. + Ensure that design ideas are sound and in keeping with budgetary constraints. + Maintain working knowledge of the industry and apply industry-specific codes and standards with the specifications of the designs that have been assigned. + Work with Support Modeler, MicroStation, PDMS, 2D & 3D environments, and AutoCAD. + Ensure that electronic files of design documentation and other engineering data are securely maintained. + Verify drawings and documents are in accordance with engineering standards or release to manufacturing prior to ‘Release’. + Perform other tasks and duties as assigned. Essential Skills + 5+ years of experience in a CAD / 3D modeling environment working specifically on pipe supports. + Working knowledge of or experience with ASME 31.1. + Skills in computer-aided drafting techniques and structural drafting. + Proficiency in AutoCAD. + Experience with MicroStation, modeling software, and PDMS. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Certifications or diplomas in AutoCAD. + Ability to work in both 2D and 3D environments. Work Environment The work environment involves working with various computer-aided design software and modeling tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and PDMS. The role requires collaboration with different departments including estimating, manufacturing, and production to ensure accurate and high-quality designs. The environment supports team-based projects and requires adherence to industry codes and standards. Dress code and hours will be communicated as per company policy.
