Fabrication Shop Manager - ARB, Inc. 

Position Overview

The Fabrication Shop Manager oversees the daily operations of the fabrication shop, ensuring efficient production, quality control, and safety compliance. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in fabrication processes, and the ability to effectively manage teams, projects, and resources.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:

Supervise and coordinate all activities in the fabrication shop, including scheduling, production, and workflow optimization.

Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of fabricators, welders, and shop staff.

Conduct performance evaluations, training, and development programs.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure all products meet established quality standards and customer specifications.

Conduct inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.

Resource Management:

Oversee inventory, procurement, and maintenance of tools, materials, and equipment.

Monitor budgets and control costs related to shop operations.

Safety and Compliance:

Enforce workplace safety protocols in compliance with OSHA and company standards.

Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure a hazard-free work environment.

Project Coordination:

Collaborate with engineering, design, and sales teams to align production schedules with project timelines.

Track progress, manage deadlines, and address production challenges.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in fabrication, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in reading blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical schematics

Knowledge of welding, cutting, machining, and metal fabrication processes.

Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management software.

Soft Skills:

Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage team dynamics and client interactions.

Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure.

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in a fabrication shop environment, with occasional office duties. Exposure to noise, heat, and equipment typical of a manufacturing setting. May require lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.

Compensation/Benefits

Annual salary would be in the range of $120-150k commensurate with education, skills and experience Paid Company Holidays Paid PTO Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA/HSA, Short Term/Long Term Disability, 401K with matching contribution
